RESOLVED: That MSMS work with the Michigan Radiological Society to encourage physicians to utilize the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria® whenever possible to choose the most appropriate imaging examination for their patients; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS work with Michigan Radiological Society to raise awareness among all physicians caring for pediatric patients regarding the potential risks of ionizing radiation exposure from CT examinations; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS work with Michigan Radiological Society to encourage imaging facilities performing CT examinations to appropriately adjust their computed tomographic protocols and dosages for pediatric patients; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS work with Michigan Radiological Society to encourage imaging facilities to provide a digital or analog copy of examinations performed as well as the associated reports to patients expected to go to other medical facilities.RATIONALE: The Committee amended the fourth resolved to add “or analog” for clarification.
