RESOLVED: That MSMS promote passage of legislation that will require first dollar coverage of immunizations, preventive health care visits, and administration of vaccines.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: The Committee heard a good deal of support for the intent of this resolution, but is concerned that seeking legislation would create a mandate, essentially allowing the government to dictate medical treatment in this case. The Committee affirms existing MSMS policies about access to immunizations for all Michigan children. Action Report #3 of the Board of Directors also addresses insurance coverage for immunizations and the Committee adopted that Action Report.
