RESOLVED: That MSMS work with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Health Systems, to mandate that all hyperbaric oxygen chambers in the state of Michigan be fully accredited on a regular basis to improve patient and staff safety; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS work with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Health Systems, to mandate that all hyperbaric oxygen chambers in the state of Michigan be available 24/7, seven days a week, for emergency care of patients as a requirement for accreditation; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That our AMA work with the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS), which in collaboration with The Joint Commission serves as the accreditation agency for hyperbaric oxygen chambers, to mandate that all hyperbaric oxygen chambers be fully accredited on a regular basis to improve patient and staff safety; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That our AMA work with the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) to require that all hyperbaric oxygen chambers be available 24/7, seven days a week, for emergency care of patients as a requirement for accreditation.
