RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to seek Congressional action and any necessary regulatory action through the Food and Drug Administration to regulate potentially hazardous energy beverages (e.g., Red Bull™, Rockstar™, Monster™, Full Throttle™, etc.); and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS actively engage the Michigan legislature and the appropriate state of Michigan departments and agencies to educate the general population about the hazards and potentially life threatening consequences of consuming energy beverages; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS collaborate with appropriate state of Michigan departments and agencies to develop regulations for the sale and distribution of energy beverages to protect the public from their deleterious effects.RATIONALE: The Committee amended the first resolved to change the word “very” to “potentially
