RESOLVED: That MSMS work with the appropriate government and insurance agencies to influence hospital admission criteria using evidence-based guidelines that may not be binding to each individual patient; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to lobby to abolish unscientific admission criteria (e.g. InterQual) and instead formulate evidence-based guidelines. RATIONALE: The issue raised in the resolution should be addressed, but because the resolved portion did not capture the action required. Additional study is needed.
