RESOLVED: That MSMS propose legislation similar to Virginia Senate Bill 823, which amends the code of the State of Virginia relating to public schools physical activity requirement; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS develop legislation that requires that a physical activity program, consisting of at least twenty minutes per day, or an average of 100 minutes per week, during the regular school year, for all students in grades kindergarten through five; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS support a requirement of a physical activity program for all students in grades six through twelve with a goal of at least 150 minutes per week, on average, during the regular school year; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS advocate that physical activity programs for all public school students may include any combination of physical education classes, athletic extra-curricular activities, recess, or other programs and physical activities deemed appropriate by the local school Board.
