RESOLVED: That MSMS recognizes the social complexities of providing health care for homeless patients; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS recognizes that ensuring safe discharges of homeless patients necessitates the need for a reliable system to identify members of this vulnerable population; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS encourages the implementation of screening questions in emergency departments across Michigan to better identify patients from the homeless population; and be it further RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the American Medical Association (AMA) ask our AMA to encourage the implementation of screening questions in emergency departments nationwide to better identify patients from the homeless population.
