RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA express displeasure with the AMA for accepting the federal health care reform proposals without any tort reform. RATIONALE: The Committee expressed a great deal of frustration in the inability of the AMA to include medical liability reform as part of the federal health care reform. The Committee agreed that true health care reform cannot be accomplished without addressing medical liability as an underlying driver of health care costs.
