RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to work with the Federal Trade Commission and federal legislators to come up with stringent laws to mandate television, radio, and digital media hosts to declare conflicts of interest while dealing with health related topics.RATIONALE: The Committee noted that this is existing AMA and MSMS policy guidelines on conflicts of interest. National Professional Specialty Societies also have ethical guidelines that currently exist that apply to these situations.
