RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to seek alterations of the Medicare rules to allow yearly checkups with a grace period of 30 days to allow for the various fluctuations in individuals’ schedules.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: The Committee believes there are existing avenues through the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee to obtain policy by specific procedure codes to expand the grace period. The Committee noted that there are multiple types of exams with varying restrictions on the lengths of times required between those exams that complicates the issue.
