RESOLVED: That MSMS recognize the tireless work and dedication of solo practitioners in maintaining the health of Michigan; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS include solo practitioner issues in the discussion of Future of Medicine projects and support solo practitioners and celebrate their work which brings much value to organized medicine.RATIONALE: The Committee discussed that MSMS and the AMA have current efforts underway to recognize the work and dedication of solo practitioners. For example, MSMS annually recognizes solo practitioners by presenting the Plessner Award. Additionally, the MSMS strategic plan has many avenues to highlight activities of solo practitioners through activities related to preservation of primary care and quality and safety.
