RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to oppose thepractice by state medical boards of creating lists of approved or unapproved international medical schools; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA, in closeconsultation with its International Medical Graduates Section, to work with the Federation of State Medical Boards in its current efforts to study methods to evaluate international medical schools; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan State Medical Society oppose the practice by statemedical boards of creating lists of approved or unapproved international medical schools; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan State Medical Society support working with theFederation of State Medical Boards, in close consultation with its International Medical Graduates Section, in its current efforts to study methods to evaluate international medical schools.RATIONALE: The Committee recognized the importance of asking the AMA to study methods of evaluating international medical schools, and chose to add two resolves to the resolution to indicate the Michigan State Medical Society’s support of this resolution.
