The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Foundation is preparing for a very busy spring conference season. Conference agendas range from the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and what impact it will have on practices to practical information on meeting compliance deadlines, as well as more clinical topics like infectious diseases and select topics in dermatology .
On Thursday, February 2, 2017 the Genesee County Medical Society (GCMS) in collaboration with MSMS and the American Medical Association (AMA) will hold a town hall meeting focusing on "ACA & MACRA in the New Political Environment: How To Thrive in Value Based Health Care". Speakers for the conference include former AMA president, J. James Rohack, MD focusing on the AMA's STEPSforward program and how it can help physicians during this time of regulatory change as well as information from Stacey Hettiger, Director of Medical and Regulatory Policy at MSMS who will focus on how MSMS will provide support for physicians as they move forward with the new payment models. The MSMS Foundation will be holding their first conference of the year on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Grand Rapids. This conference will focus on Practical Guidance for Health Care Compliance. Across the board, health care compliance concerns face every practice, no matter what the specialty or practice setting. MSMS Foundation can help bring order to the current regulatory environment, offering practice guidelines to ensure your practice remains compliant. The morning session will focus on MACRA. The afternoon session will include practical information on meeting key deadlines, HIPAA, ADA, medical records and more.
