Bending the Diabetes Curve in Michigan -- Live Webinar

On Wednesday, March 15, from 12:15 to 1:00 pm, join the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) and Kate Kirley, MD, MS, Director of Chronic Disease Prevention, American Medical Association (AMA) for a live webinar as we discuss "Bending the Diabetes Curve in Michigan".

During this webinar physicians will:

  • Review evidence based, clinical approaches to diabetes prevention.
  • Learn how physicians and their care teams can implement a diabetes prevention initiative within their practice.
  • Learn about the collaboration between MSMS and the AMA to advance diabetes prevention in Michigan.

Registration for this webinar is free but required. Please click here to register.

This webinar is part of the work MSMS is doing with the AMA to build awareness around the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) in Michigan. The Prevent Diabetes STAT: Michigan campaign began in May 2015, and growing interest across the state has increased the visibility and adoption of the program.

MSMS has continued to connect with groups across the state to introduce and educate physicians and their staff on diagnosing pre-diabetes and the life style change program. This work will help to identify best practices around diagnosis and treatment of pre-diabetes, specifically, how to screen, test, and refer patients to a CDC recognized lifestyle change program.
