Earlier this week, the staff of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) volunteered their time with Habitat for Humanity's Rock the Block. In addition to the new home construction projects, Habitat for Humanity Capital Region has partnered with community neighborhoods. Rock the Block was a weeklong Neighborhood Revitalization program which helps homeowners complete affordable exterior improvements with the help of local organizations and individuals.
"Rock the Block was an opportunity for us to give back to our local community," said Julie L. Novak, MSMS CEO. "Together, our staff helped improve four homes and a community center. Our hope is this will be a catalyst for improved housing conditions and access to services for families in need."
