The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) House of Delegates held its 151st meeting in Dearborn this past weekend. During his inaugural speech, our new MSMS President Doctor David Krhovsky noted our 150-year history of challenges and opportunities. "I remain fiercely optimistic that, backed by our 15,000 members, MSMS will continue to meet all challenges and opportunities head on. At the same time, it's also important to remember that each of us can make a difference as individuals, whether it's something as simple as supporting MDPAC, or deciding to lead the fight against something we feel particularly passionate about."
In addition to electing and ushering in new leadership, delegates and alternate delegates voted Sunday to make policy and directives on a wide range of issues, including lead poisoning, firearms, vaccinations, maintenance of certification, opioid prescribing, and much more.
