The Health Endowment Fund has issued its first grants, $15.2 million split among four organizations.
The largest grant was $5 million, given to both the Food Bank Council of Michigan and the Area Agencies on Aging Association. The former grant will support mobile distribution sites and the latter will fund fall prevention and diabetes management programs.
Easter Seals-Michigan, Incorporated, was granted $4.1 million to develop a child trauma screening and assessment program, and the Michigan Recreation and Park Association received $1.1 million to develop fitness programs for communities with health needs.
