What to expect in Michigan Legislature’s "lame-duck" session

With only nine days left to pass new laws before the end of the calendar year, the Michigan Legislature is now in, what’s called, "lame-duck" session. A "lame-duck" session occurs whenever the Legislature meets after its successor is elected, but before the successor's term begins.

MSMS remains watchful on the following: Senate Bill 2 and scope of practice issues; Auto No-Fault; raising awareness of Immunizations; and, expedited partner therapy.

The discussions were centered around the issues mentioned above, but went even further into detail with regards to Certificate of Need, Maintenance of Certification and Graduate Medical Education.
