Healthy Michigan Plan to Increase Accountability, Provide Access to
Care for Residents Who Need it Most
LANSING—Michigan State Medical Society President Kenneth Elmassian, D.O., issued
the following statement today applauding members of the state Senate Government
Operations Committee for voting to expand and reform Medicaid in the state of Michigan:
“Every discussion about health care and health policy in Lansing should start and end
with what is best for Michigan patients. The thoughtful plan approved today by the Senate
Committee puts patients first while increasing accountability and protecting taxpayers.
“We applaud members of the Committee for remembering what is important and putting
patients first.”
