Conduct Summer Check-ups with Legislators to Push Medicaid & More

July 16 - Our work hasn’t stopped this summer on advocating for health policy measures such as the "Healthy Michigan Plan," a.k.a., HB 4714. The Michigan Senate’s Healthy Michigan work group is slated to meet next week to address several substitute bills that aim to make the bill more palatable to the GOP lawmakers who currently oppose it.

Meanwhile, Gov. Rick Snyder continues to tour the state to push the Healthy Michigan Plan, meeting recently with local physician leaders and others at a town hall meeting in Marquette, which featured MSMS Board member Jeffrey E. Jacobs, MD, a Houghton County pediatrician.

SUMMER ADVOCACY CHECK-UPS - Catch lawmakers in their districts this summer at picnics, fairs, parades, and other events where they connect with constituents. Or attend their regular coffee hours or just at a one-on-one meeting to keep our issues upfront and be a resource for them. Brush up on hot issues>>
