MSMS Seeks 2013 Board of Medicine Nominations

Members of the Michigan Board of Medicine are the governing body for the practice of allopathic medicine in the state of Michigan. This 19-member body—10 physicians, eight public members and one physician assistant—collectively maintains a high standard of medical care by reviewing and deciding upon all licensure and discipline matters on a case-by-case basis, recommending state policy, and acting as a liaison with the state of Michigan and the medical doctor profession.

The MSMS Committee on Medical Licensure & Discipline reviews nomination requests and makes recommendations to the MSMS Board of Directors. The MSMS Board of Directors then reviews the Committee's recommendations and makes final recommendations to the Office of the Governor.

There are currently three positions available for appointment. MSMS encourages you to submit names of qualified individuals you believe would help serve the needs of our state to MSMS for consideration.

The application deadline is June 10. Please submit requests to Michigan State Medical Society, c/o Andrew L. Schepers, 120 W. Saginaw, PO Box 950, East Lansing, MI 48826-0950.

For more information, contact Andrew Schepers at MSMS at 517-336-7579 or aschepers@msms.org.
