WSU Residents Capture 1st and 2nd in Poster Contest

Two Wayne State University School of Medicine neurology residents took first and second place in the Michigan Neurological Association’s recent poster contest.

Rahul Damani, MD, MPH, MBBS, received first place for “Regional variation in carotid endarterectomy.” The graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and CU Shah Medical College in India is mentored by Seemant Chaturvedi, MD, professor of Neurology and director of the Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Stroke Program.

Ariel Majjhoo, MD, took second place for “Sensory variant of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.” Dr. Majjhoo, a graduate of the WSU School of Medicine, is mentored by Richard Lewis, MD, professor and associate chairman of the Department of Neurology and co-director of the WSU Neuromuscular Program. Dr. Lewis also serves as the director of the Hiller Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Center at the WSU School of Medicine.
