M. Salim Siddiqui, MD, PhD, a Wayne County radiation oncologist, was voted president-elect of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) during the 157th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates held in Kalamazoo on April 30th.
A graduate of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Doctor Siddiqui will serve a one-year term as president-elect until he assumes the presidency of MSMS in May 2023.
Prior to serving as president-elect, Doctor Siddiqui served two two-year terms as the Young Physician Representative to the MSMS Board of Directors, a position he was first elected to in 2015 and then again in 2017. He also currently serves on the Michigan Delegation to the American Medical Association (AMA).
Doctor Siddiqui is a member of the Henry Ford Medical Group and is affiliated with Henry Ford Health. He served as President of Wayne County Medical Society (WCMSSM) from 2019 to 2020 and currently serves on the WCMSSM Board of Directors.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the AMA. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
