The following is a public statement from Thomas Veverka, MD, FACS, president of the Michigan State Medical Society in response to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announcement that they are now seeking proposals for the newly created MI Kids Now Mobile Response Grant Program.

“The Michigan State Medical Society fully supports the Michigan Department of Health and Humans Services efforts to expand access to mobile crisis response services for Michigan’s youth. The newly created MI Kids Now Mobile Response Grant Program will go a long way towards ensuring young children and adolescents who are the victims of trauma receive the help and support they need as they work to navigate through some of life’s most trying and difficult circumstances.”
