As May and Skin Cancer Awareness Month come to a close, let’s continue to highlight information about this most common type of cancer including risk factors, warning signs, prevention, and early detection throughout the summer and remainder of the year. Over 5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year and it’s reported that one out of 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70.i Awareness is particularly important as skin cancer is also one of the most preventable cancers.
