Saginaw Physician Re-elected to Help Lead State Medical Society, Serve on Board of Directors

Thomas J. Veverka, MD, a Saginaw general surgeon, was re-elected to the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the 154th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates annual meeting May 4th and 5th in Kalamazoo.

Doctor Veverka, received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, and will represent physicians from Saginaw, Tuscola, Gratiot, Midland, Isabella, and Clare counties.

Doctor Veverka is a trauma and general surgeon at MidMichigan Medical Center Midland. Prior to MidMichigan Medical Center Midland, he was in independent practice in Saginaw for 18 years where he was active in surgical resident and medical student education. He has been active in physician leadership including President of the Saginaw County Medical Society and multiple positions at St. Mary’s in Saginaw including the inaugural Medical Director of Trauma. He belongs to the Michigan Committee of Trauma and serves as a trauma site reviewer for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. He holds clinical faculty appointments with both Michigan State University and Central Michigan University medical schools. He also serves on the Board of Michigan Health Improvement Alliance.
