Paul Bozyk, MD, a Royal Oak specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care was re-elected to a second one-year term as vice chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the MSMS Board of Directors meeting held in Kalamazoo on May 1st. Doctor Bozyk also serves as a regional director to the board, representing physicians from Oakland County.
In his role, Doctor Bozyk will continue to preside over meetings of the 36-member Board of Directors at the will of the chair, Mark Komorowski, MD, of Bay City. The MSMS Board sets policies and oversees operations for the medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Doctor Bozyk is a past chair of the MSMS Residents and Fellows Section and past chair of the Young Physicians Section. He is Associate Professor at Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine and Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Beaumont Royal Oak. Doctor Bozyk is also the immediate past-president of the Oakland County Medical Society.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
