Paul Bozyk, MD, a Royal Oak specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care was elected to a one-year term as vice chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the MSMS Board of Directors meeting held virtually on May 17th.
Doctor Bozyk will preside over meetings of the 36-member Board of Directors at the will of the chair, Mark Komorowski, MD, of Bay City. The MSMS Board sets policies and oversees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Doctor Bozyk is a past chair of the MSMS Residents and Fellows Section and past chair of the Young Physicians Section. He is Associate Professor at Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine and Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Beaumont Royal Oak. Doctor Bozyk also serves as President of the Oakland County Medical Society.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
