Quantum Medical Concepts and SteriDev, LLC today announced the development and public availability of important new health care technology designed to improve physicians’ access to potentially life-saving health care mobile applications in the operating suite and sterile settings. SteriDev, a Lansing-based medical device company, today unveiled the new CleanCase sterile mobile device cover, a product developed with the support of $150,000 in pre-seed stage funding from Quantum.
The CleanCase sterile mobile device cover is built on a combination of established operating room techniques and novel technologies that uses a removable sleeve through which the device is passed. Once the mobile device is secured in the device-specific case, the sleeve is removed, and the case is closed and ready to use. The case is made of rigid plastic which features a touchscreen face and an unobstructed camera window, making the mobile device fully functional, protected, and easy to manipulate through gloved hands.
“The CleanCase sterile mobile device cover is a first-of-its-kind product that will empower physicians to use the best and latest medical technology on their mobile devices, without ever compromising patient safety,” said Rob Zondervan, PhD, Chief Executive Officer at SteriDev, LLC, a Lansing-based medical device company. “Health care mobile applications are developing at a remarkable rate, and in the hands of a great physician, they can make a real difference in the care of patients. Currently, mobile applications are improving the delivery of health care in non-sterile settings. The CleanCase mobile device covers expand their usage into sterile environments so surgical patients can also benefit.”
SteriDev’s CleanCase sterile mobile device cover technology is hitting the marketplace thanks in part to investment from Quantum Medical Concepts.
"Physicians are using exciting new technology to improve patient outcomes, and SteriDev’s new CleanCase sterile mobile device cover is a tremendous tool to help them maintain the sterile operating suite,” said Benjamin Louagie, Managing Director of Quantum Medical Concepts. "We are excited to see the CleanCase sterile mobile device cover hit the market, and thrilled that local Michigan physicians are global leaders in the development of important new health care technologies. Quantum is proud to support physicians and help them better care for their patients."
