The Michigan State Medical Society congratulates Board of Directors member Louito C. Edje, MD, MHPE, FAAFP, on receiving the ELUM (Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Alumna) Compass Award during the 30th anniversary celebration of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program.

A 2023 ELAM alumna, Doctor Edje was honored for her leadership in advancing the program’s quadruple aims: improving health of populations, enhancing the experience of care for individuals, promoting appropriate use of health care resource, and fostering joy in the practice of medicine.

Doctor Edje is senior associate dean of medical education and the inaugural David M. Wu, MD and Bernadine E. Wu, MD, Endowed Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School, where she also serves as professor of family medicine and learning health sciences.

Her contributions continue to strengthen both academic medicine and the physician community in Michigan.
