Michigan State Medical Society on State COVID Surge

The following is a public statement from Bobby Mukkamala, MD, president of the Michigan State Medical Society.

Once again, our state is facing a troubling surge in COVID-19 cases.  Our hospitals are at or near capacity, and our health care workers are stretched to their limits.  We’ve said it before - many times - and as frustrating as it is to have our activities limited, it is crucial that at this time Michigan residents get vaccinated, keep distanced, wear masks, and forego higher risk activities.

“The Governor, state and local health officials, and Michigan’s medical community stand united on this.  While we are not there yet, we can get to the end of this, and we all play a part in making that happen.”
