The MSMS Medical Student Section is seeking mentors for a new mentorship program. Mentorship can be such an impactful experience for both mentors and mentees alike, and we are looking to help facilitate connections between physicians and students with similar interests and goals.
The hope is for mentors and mentees to meet for at least one hour every two months for one year. Once paired, mentors and mentees will independently schedule their meetings, so frequency/timing can be adjusted based on individual schedules. Meetings will be virtual via your video conferencing platform of choice. This mentorship is not specialty-specific, though some mentees may indicate on their surveys that they prefer to be paired with a physician who practices in their specialty of interest. Physicians with any level of experience (residents to retired physicians) with a passion for mentorship are needed.
Please fill out the survey here to be connected with a medical student mentee from one of the seven medical schools across the state. If you have any questions, please contact Vivienne Acuna at acunaviv@msu.edu.
