Kalamazoo Physician Elected to Represent Young Physicians on Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors

Michael J. Redinger, MD, MA Selected by Peers at MSMS Annual House of Delegates to Help Lead 15,000 Member Society

Michael J. Redinger, MD, MA a board certified psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine in Kalamazoo was elected to represent young physicians on the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors during the 154th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates annual meeting May 4th and 5th in Kalamazoo. 

He will serve a one-year term helping lead the 36-member MSMS Board of Directors. The MSMS Board of Directors sets policies and oversees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.

Doctor Redinger is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned a dual medical degree and master’s degree in bioethics and health policy from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his residency with Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine. 

He serves as Co-Chief of the school’s Program in Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Program in Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law.

The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
