Join Us for Advocacy Day: Strengthening the Voice of Michigan Physicians
The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) invites all physicians to participate in our upcoming Advocacy Day, a critical opportunity to unite as advocates for the future of medicine in our state.
We need only to look at our recent defeat of the proposed horrendous medical liability laws to see the collective power we wield when we work together. But the groundwork must be laid early. Advocacy Day is our chance.
Physicians have a unique and vital role to play in the legislative process. Decisions made in Lansing directly impact how we practice medicine and how our patients receive care. Your voice, experience, and relationships with legislators are essential tools for ensuring that public policy reflects the needs of both our profession and our patients.
MSMS recently demonstrated the power of physician advocacy by successfully defending against attempts to undermine Michigan’s medical liability reforms. This hard-fought victory protected the stability of our healthcare system and safeguarded patient access to care. However, new challenges are on the horizon—issues like scope of practice, step therapy reform, and physician reimbursement rates require the full strength of our membership to address.
Advocacy Day is your chance to take action. By engaging directly with lawmakers, you’ll help shape policies that affect our practices and the communities we serve. Together, we can ensure that legislators understand the realities of medicine and the impact of their decisions.
Let’s build on our momentum and continue to make a difference. Your involvement matters now more than ever.
