Richard David “Dick” Weber, a distinguished trial attorney and leader in Michigan’s legal and health care communities, is remembered for his decades of service and profound contributions to the state’s medical profession. A trusted legal mind, Dick served for many years as General Counsel to the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), where he played a pivotal role in shaping health care policy and advancing tort reform efforts that protected both physicians and patients.  His strategic vision and legal expertise helped position MSMS as a powerful voice in state policy and medical jurisprudence.

Dick dedicated his entire 42-year legal career to the Detroit law firm that would come to bear his name, Kerr, Russell & Weber, where he served as managing partner for the final two decades of his tenure. He was known not only for his legal acumen but for his integrity, mentorship, and tireless advocacy on behalf of clients.

Dick was valued as a guiding force for MSMS and will be profoundly missed. His full obituary can be found here, honoring his life, legacy, and the impact he had on so many. A funeral mass is planned for Monday, June 30, 11:00 am at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Visitation at church begins at 10:00 am.
