As had been reported nationally, individual health insurance rates are experiencing double digit increases for January 1, 2026. The median premium increase is estimated at 18 percent due to rising healthcare and prescription drug costs.

Open Enrollment for individual coverage is November 1, 2025 – December 15, 2025, for a January 1, 2026, effective date. This coverage is beneficial for the following:
- A dependent who is 26, and is aging off a parent’s policy
- Loss of coverage from another health plan
- Medical Students and Residents
- Physicians or family members who do not quality for group health insurance
