Being Prepared for Rising Measles Cases – Upcoming CDC Webinar for Health Care Professionals

Wednesday, May 7, 2025

As measles outbreaks continue to emerge across the United States, the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) urges all healthcare professionals to remain vigilant, particularly as the summer travel season approaches. The risk of measles exposure is significantly heightened among unvaccinated populations, and early recognition is critical to effective response and containment.

To support clinicians and staff, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through its Project Firstline initiative, will host a timely and informative webinar titled "Measles on the Rise: How to Prepare and Respond in Your Clinic." The session will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. ET and will feature a panel of CDC experts. Topics will include:

  • Current trends in measles epidemiology
  • Clinical recognition of measles
  • The importance of vaccination
  • Preparing and responding to measles
  • Best practices in infection prevention and control within health care settings

Health Care professionals are encouraged to register and submit your questions in advance, and please share with your networks: Measles on the Rise: How to Prepare and Respond in Your Clinic | Infectious Diseases | CDC’s Project Firstline | AMA Ed Hub
