Bay County Physician Elected Vice Chairman of Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors

Mark Komorowski, MD, Selected by Peers at MSMS Annual House of Delegates to Help Lead 15,000 Member Society

Mark Komorowski, MD, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who served the community as the Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery at McLaren Bay Region, was elected Vice Chairman of the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors during the 154th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates annual meeting May 4th and 5th in Kalamazoo. 

He will serve a one-year term helping lead the 36-member MSMS Board of Directors. The MSMS Board of Directors sets policies and oversees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.

Doctor Komorowski has been practicing Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1993.  He is a graduate of St. George’s University and completed his Residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Doctor Komorowski also serves as the Vice Chairman of the American Medical Association delegation from Michigan, and as President of the Great Lakes PO, a physician group of over 370 members.

The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
