Mark Komorowski, MD, a board-certified Plastic Surgeon who served the community as the Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery at McLaren Bay Region, was elected to a one-year term as chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the MSMS Board of Directors meeting held virtually on May 17th.
In his new role, Doctor Komorowski will preside over meetings of the 36-member Board of Directors. The MSMS Board sets policies and oversees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
Doctor Komorowski has been practicing Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1993. He is a graduate of St. George’s University and completed his Residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
Doctor Komorowski also serves as the Chair of the Michigan Delegation to the American Medical Association, and as the President of both the Bay County Medical Society and Great Lakes PO.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
