Michigan Board of Medicine CME - all in one day. Friday, November 4, 8:30 am – 4:15 pm at the Sheraton Ann Arbor. Lynn Smitherman, MD and Latonya Riddle-Jones, MD, MPH will conclude the day with a three-hour presentation on Implicit Bias.
Doctor Smitherman is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Departmental Vice Chair of Medical Education and the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Doctor Smitherman received her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals and a Chief Residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Doctor Riddle-Jones is the Medical Director at Corktown Health and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Doctor Riddle-Jones specializes in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine. She is affiliated with Harper University Hospital, Children's Hospital of Michigan, and Detroit Receiving Hospital.

This conference fulfills LARA’s requirement for three hours in the area of pain and symptom management (meets the one hour minimum of controlled substance prescribing training), one hour in the area of medical ethics, and three hours of implicit bias training.
