More than 40 members of the various MSMS sections gathered at MSMS Headquarters on Saturday, Feb. 13, to discuss physician leadership, conduct section business, and review resolutions in preparation for the MSMS House of Delegates.

MSMS President Rose Ramirez, MD, President-elect David Krhovsky, MD, and OMSS chair Robert Jackson, MD, led the discussion about leadership with members of the Medical Student Section, the Resident & Fellow Section, the Young Physician Section, the International Medical Graduates Section and the Organized Medical Staff Section. The 2016 candidate for President-elect, Cheryl Gibson-Fountain, MD, also spoke about her goals.

Doctor Jackson urged those attending to "take your knowledge and use your communication skills and help lead your colleagues." He said it's not easy to be a physician leader, but it is needed now more than ever. "Hope, belief, and faith work better than cynicism," he concluded.

The resolution deadline is March 1 for the MSMS House of Delegates meeting on April 30-May 1 at The Henry in Dearborn.
