Medical Students Lobby for GME Funding, Loan Forgiveness at State Capitol

More than 150 medical students from five medical schools in Michigan met with lawmakers on Tuesday to urge support for more graduate medical education (GME) funding in the state budget, scope of practice concerns, and other issues related to physician supply and availability. Schools represented included: Central Michigan University College of Medicine, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, University of Michigan Medical School, Wayne State University School of Medicine, and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, MD, School of Medicine.
