The Michigan State Medical Society this weekend will formally welcome David Krhovsky, MD, as the new President of the Society. Doctor Krhovsky, a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, is the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Spectrum Health.

Doctor Krhovsky is also a practicing anesthesiologist who has been on staff at Spectrum Health Hospital Group in Grand Rapids for the past 13 years. Prior to that, he was on staff at Saint Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids for 18 years.

"Physicians change the world, one patient at a time. That's an incredible privilege -- and an even more profound responsibility," Doctor Krhovsky said. "I look forward to doing what I can to make an impact on the medical profession and patient care during my term as president of the medical society."

Doctor Krhovsky will take office on Saturday following his official election last year by the Michigan State Medical Society's (MSMS) House of Delegates. During the 151st annual House of Delegates meeting this weekend in Dearborn, Krhovsky will deliver his inaugural speech, focusing on the need for collaboration and teamwork among health care providers to deliver patients the highest quality, affordable care.

Doctor Krhovsky has held leadership positions in several organizations including the Kent County Medical Society, the Kent Medical Foundation, the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He also previously served as the president of the Spectrum Health Medical Staff.
