Stop Dangerous Chiropractic Bills from Passing HouseThe House is expected to vote soon on House Bills 5759 and 6201, which would endanger patients by expanding chiropractic scope of practice from the "spinal column" to the "musculoskeletal system." MSMS believes there is no valid reason to increase scope of practice for a profession that has not increased its training or education to be commensurate with their scope of practice expansion.

"Health care is the single biggest piece of the state budget. It used to be education. Our dilemma is this: health care is expensive, yet we're not healthier because of it. Michigan has a higher rate of insureds than many neighboring states, but that hasn't made us healthier."
-Sen. Tom George, MD (R-Portage), Chair, Senate Health Policy Committee, on increasing health care costs, during MSMS Capitol Check-Up, September 25, 2008
