Medical Records and the Law
Additional Information

A policy regarding the medical record is a necessity for every medical offi ce. This useful program will help participants learn the need for accurate documentation and record keeping. Dan Schulte, JD, from Kerr, Russell & Weber, PLC, MSMS Legal Counsel, will discuss: General Recordkeeping Requirements; HIPAA’S Privacy Rule (Regulating Disclosures); Michigan’s Medical Record Access Act (Regulating Access); Medical Malpractice Statue of Limitations; 2006 Michigan Medical Records Law (Regulating Retention and Destruction); and Responding to subpoenas and other legal process.
 

Fees:   $125.00 for MSMS & MMGMA members; $175.00 for non-members
