Documentation of E&M Services-Understanding the Key Componen

The key components for Evaluation and Management (E&M) documentation do not change new patient to established, or offi ce to hospital service to service and yet confusion reigns. The key elements of History, Exam and Medical Decision Making are simply required in varying levels. If this does not make sense to you, attendance at this class is a must for you to understand both the 1995 and 1997 E&M documentation guidelines that most insurances use in their auditing. This all day seminar will give you a complete understanding of documentation from the chief complaint to the signature at the bottom of the note. Explanations on the tough questions of double counting of elements, ”of all others negative” and defi ning medical necessity will give you valuable knowledge in the E&M arena. Who should attend: Front offi ce staff, check out staff, and new billing staff

There are pressures both internal and external to audit your practice, but where to start and what do you look at? Identifying areas of risk for your practice can be a daunting task.
