Basic CPT Coding
Additional Information

During this introductory course, Deborah Rye, CPC, or Sherry Sheehan, CPC, will introduce attendees to the structure and background of Current Procedural Technology (CPT) and how to code correctly using it. The course will include a question and answer session and hands-on use of coding books. Course topics include: HCPCS coding Evaluation and Management Coding Legal issues surrounding the bundling and unbundling of codes Important annual changes to CPT coding
 

Fees:   $125.00 for MSMS & MMGMA members; $175.00 for non-members

Basic ICD-9 Coding
Additional Information

Bring your coding books and questions to this beginner course in ICD-9 coding. Instructor Deborah Rye, CPC, will outline the basics of ICD-9 through hands-on practice exercises and case studies. Participants will learn: The background of diagnosis coding; How to locate and verify codes; The proper use of coding materials; The ground rules for reimbursement success; and Ways to ensure accurate coding. Who should attend: Physicians and billing and coding staff with no previous training in ICD-9 coding
